#dsgoods: behind the scenes at our second photo shoot

we were in weston, connecticut on monday shooting our new #dsgoods for both spring 2016 and fall/winter 2016.  the shoot location was at our photographer ryan scherb's house where he has built a photographer's studio attached to his home.

shooting there for a day and escaping new york city truly felt special: working among such creative and talented people in the quietness of the country with good music playing in the background...all were recipe for a fun and inspiring shoot day.

ryan usually spends his time shooting for ralph lauren and jon varvatos among many other amazing brands...so you can guess he is pretty good at what he does.  it happened to be another randomly warm winter day: 60 degrees and partly sunny.  with a light dusting of snow still covering the backyard, we were able to shoot some awesome shots with our model mia woolrich outside - and thankfully we didn't have to brave the cold!

sidenote: mia is australian and her boyfriend owns a surfboard company called paul surf.  follow them on instagram and you will likely develop a major couple crush.

our stylist kirstin gellatly always has brilliant ideas for our ds fleece: she will pair things together that i would have never thought. stylists are like that...they surprise and delight in the most subtle, creative ways.

love this shot of mia in the kitchen, ryan's wife kristen did such an amazing job on transforming their vintage CT charmer...their home is just so cool.  mia is wearing our cobble hill turtleneck in natural blush, coming in new colors soon on our site.

and...a special shoutout to our hair and makeup gal kristyl newell. i hired her a few years ago at lancome to be one of our PR interns - and she is now on the prestigious lancome makeup education and training team!  she totally killed it with the hair and makeup.  i can already sense big things in store for you, kristyl.
