She’s one of the Dudley Stephens’ founding sisters, the face of the brand and the creative force conquering our social media, editorial and events calendars, marketing plan, brand relationships, design and production (and making it look easy with her boundless energy). As a stylist and model for our social and online channels, she’s also highly skilled in the art of outfit changes at superheroine speed. Did we mention she can simultaneously manage brand partnerships and preschooler playdates with a single bound?
In honor of Lauren’s birthday today, here’s more on this dynamic, determined Dudley sister, in her own words. Happy birthday, Lauren!
Meet Lauren, Co-Founder and Chief Executive Officer
Hometown: Darien, Connecticut
Nicknames: Mommy, Auntie Lala, Lolo, Duds, Doodles, Dudley
Dudley day-in-my-life: No two are alike! Our days usually consist of lots of calls, photo shoots, content planning and design execution. We typically go to our Brooklyn factory every other week, where we have day-long meetings on just about everything from design and production to fulfillment and fabric updates. But without our team, Dudley Stephens would not be possible.
Personal style muse: Any celebrity or style icon from the 90’s.
Pinch-me moment: Watching my kids run around our backyard on summer evenings.
Secret superpower: Karaoke.
Sunshine on a cloudy day: My husband cooking for me.
Life-changing advice: “You’re never as bad as you think you are when you lose, and you’re never as good as you think you are when you win.” I’m not sure who said it originally, but I heard it from my Dad and it stuck with me. It means stay humble, and don’t forget that failing can be the best thing to happen to you.
Go-to movie: Right now—Moana! It’s playing non-stop in our house.
Guilty pleasure: A margarita with salt.
