Behind the Design with Influencer Meeghan Mullin: The Kathleen Turtleneck
Our second collab style, the Kathleen Turtleneck—designed with influencer and stylemaker Meeghan Mullin—drops Saturday, 12/6 at 8 a.m. ET. We asked Meeghan to share more about the woman who inspired the piece—and what makes her polished-prep style so enduring.
Q. The Kathleen Turtleneck is inspired by—and named after—your mother. What made her the perfect muse for this design?
MM: My mother was not fussy in her fashion choices and really embodied “uniform” dressing. Dudleys would have worked perfectly for her, because they are one-stop dressing and can be worn in a myriad of ways.

Q. How would you describe your mother’s signature style?
MM: My mom was a true prep—she wore hair combs, carried an old fishing basket as a purse, always wore her gold bangles and drove a navy blue station wagon with wood paneling.
Q. What qualities did she embody that you wanted this turtleneck to capture?
MM: My mother was not obsessed with fashion, like I am, but she believed in buying quality pieces that would last a lifetime. She was a lover of outerwear and cashmere scarves, and thought women should always wear nice gloves in the winter.
It’s so exciting to design something that I think that she would have loved—and worn. I know this color blue would have looked amazing on her.
Q. If your mom were wearing the Kathleen today, how do you imagine she’d style it?
MM: I think she would have fun playing with the collar!
Q. And what about you—you’re so good at dressing our styles up. How would you style the Kathleen for a festive season moment versus an everyday moment?
MM: This season, I plan on wearing it with a button down underneath, and pairing it with either a tulle skirt or plaid pants. I will most definitely be wearing it with denim and heels, and with my favorite SPRWMN leather pants.
