A Spring Soirée

The best celebrations feel spontaneously joyful, but everyone who’s actually thrown a party knows that a good one demands a plan. And we don’t know anyone else who’s got it down to a science like Jared Reichert. Below, his “five principles” for the perfect spring soirée—applied in perfect form last week for our Bleecker Street popup’s last hurrah.

Floral. “Pull from the season’s greatest hits! Right now that means lilac (which blooms in a two-week window in late April and Early May), cherry blossom and blush roses for added depth!”

Music. “Inspired by the Summer Sunset Sizzle on Ibiza, this playlist curated for the Dudley Stephens pop-up happens to be the perfect blend of indie pop!”

Color. “Your surroundings should take a cue from the the geometric colors of Joseph Albers. That means tonal, tonal, tonal! Layer tone on tone for a harmonious effect.”

Scent. “There’s nothing more evocative for setting the right mood than scent. I love Le Labo Petit Grain—a stunning, rich and elegant orange blossom blend with luscious green undertones which is also 100% vegan!”

Libations. “Last, but absolutely not least: the Rebujito, a Spanish Spritz! It’s refreshing and light, with a zesty twist. Here’s the recipe. Cheers!”
