Dudley Destination: Puerto Rico with Happy Go Curly

When it comes to summer vacations we wanted to mix things up a bit. So we asked Ailsa, AKA @_happygocurly_ to take us, via her favorite #dsgoods summer pieces, on a recent Puerto Rico adventure. The result? Colorful images, beach envy (us) and tons of memories made (Ailsa and family).

Here’s what she told us about this happy island neighbor.

“Our beach shots were taken at Isla Verde—the most popular in the San Juan area. While we were there, we embedded ourselves in the culture, including La Noche de San Juan. That night, the locals walk backward into the sea, immersing themselves three times at midnight for good luck the rest of the year (here’s hoping).”

“All of the businesses and homes in Viejo San Juan (old San Juan) are beautifully painted with bright variations of pastel colors—an Instagram blogger's dream (oh the content!). I highly recommend trying a tamarind flavored icee if you go. And don’t miss flying a kite or immersing yourself in 500 years of history at El Morro, the fortress built to protect the island.”

“From El Morro, you can venture to the cobblestone streets of Old San Juan, which thankfully stood its ground to Hurricane Maria. Duck into one of the city’s quaint little coffee shops in Old San Juan and along the water. And don’t miss Paseo de Sombrillas, a whimsical street display of umbrellas, for a little dose of color in your day.”

“When it was time to pack, I wanted to keep things simple—and Dudley had me covered. The Sidney Summer Dress worked perfectly on the beach and across the city in flip-flops, then transitioned so easily to night with cute wedges. When my beach waves veered frizzy, I was so happy to have my Surfside Hat. Of course, I tossed all my #dsgoods in my Crab and Cleek Pineapple Tote alongside my DS Pineapple S’well Bottle for hydration. All the essentials!”
