A New Narrative

We’re entrepreneurs, and we’re also moms at heart—and we cherish those quiet moments we spend reading to our kids. But access to literacy—quality books and the opportunity to read them—is out of reach for too many families.

That’s why we’ve partnered with Books for Kids. They promote childhood literacy, especially for low-income and at-risk, preschool-aged children. Because sometimes all it takes is one great story to change the narrative for a child.

Why it matters

Children from low-income families have heard a shocking 30 million fewer words than their peers by age four, and start Kindergarten already 12-14 months behind national norms in language and pre-reading. Yet better access to literacy can have real impact: There’s an estimated $7 return on investment for every $1 spent on early education.

What we are doing

Our partnership helps Books for Kids further its mission—to create libraries, donate books and implement literacy programs that help these children build a better foundation for the future.
